  • The CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling prepares graduates to undertake trade-level wall and floor tiling work in residential and commercial construction environments. The qualification develops the knowledge and practicalskills required to work safely and effectively in the construction industry and to carry out a range of wall and floor tiling tasks under workplace conditions.

    Graduates develop foundational construction skills such as workplace communication, work planning, measurements and calculations, plan interpretation, WHS compliance, sustainable work practices and use of construction documentation. These general construction skills are progressively combined with specialist tiling skills, including handling tiling materials, using wall and floor tiling tools and equipment, preparing surfaces, installing floor tiles, installing wall tiles, repairing wall andfloor tiling, installing decorative tiling, installing mosaic tiling, tiling curved surfaces and applying waterproofing for wall and floor tiling.

    Through completion of the qualification, graduates are expected to demonstrate the ability to:

    • Interpret basic plans, specifications and workplace instructions relevant to wall and floor tiling work
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, trainers, peers and workplace team members
